Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geologist to join the Resource Exploration team near Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on geological mapping, sampling, and data analysis to identify mineral deposits and guide exploration projects.

You will work across diverse terrains, using GIS and geophysical interpretation to support resource estimates and strategy development with cross-disciplinary colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration geology.
• Proficiency in geological mapping, structural analysis, and economic geology principles.
• Experience with exploration geophysics methods and data interpretation.
• Skilled in Leapfrog, ArcGIS, and Datamine for data analysis and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping and surveys to identify and delineate potential mineralized zones.
• Collect and analyze geological samples (rock, soil, sediment) for geochemical analysis.
• Interpret geophysical data (e.g., magnetic, gravity, seismic) to understand subsurface geology and potential resources.
