Job summary

Cashbuild is seeking a Trainee Manager (External Applications Only) to support the Store Manager in executing the store strategy. Probationary growth will focus on leadership, admin, stock control, OHSA compliance and customer service in a retail environment.

The role requires Grade 12, 2 years retail management experience, a valid driver''s license, and strong accounting skills with the ability to work under pressure. Own transport and basic computer literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with at least 2 years retail management experience.
• Valid driver''s license.
• Valid ID or valid work permit (local).
• Strong accounting skills.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Computer literate (basic).
• Strong leadership and administrative skills.
• Own transport and cell phone.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects (OHSA).
• Strong Human Resources skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager to develop, implement and manage a Store Business Plan aligned with company strategy.
• Grow and protect market share; assist in achieving sales budgets and growth by category.
• Promote customer loyalty programmes and manage advertising material distribution.
• Develop action plans to protect market when competitors enter the market.
• Support Customer Service strategy and maintain high audit scores (>95%).
• Assist with stock control, shrinkage, PIC process, and stock takes.
• Assist with cash handling, daily banking and debt management.
• Assist with HR tasks: recruitment, induction, training, succession planning and employee relations.
• Support Store Safety (OHSA) compliance and incident reporting.
• Assist with store merchandising, planograms, housekeeping, and profitability targets.
