Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Frontshop Assistant at our Tygervalley store to uphold merchandising standards while supporting customer service at the point of sale. You will ensure products are stocked, correctly priced, and easy to find, with careful handling of stock and adherence to Dis-Chem procedures.

The role requires Grade 12 and up to 6 months retail experience, with advantageous consideration for 1 year in retail and a Retail Business Management certification.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate.
• 0–6 months retail work experience.
• 1 year work experience in Retail (advantageous).
• Certification in Retail Business Management (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Ensure full ranges of products are on shelves and neatly presented.
• Maintain stock on shelves and ensure items are within sell-by dates.
• Restock merchandise to maximise sales.
• Handle all cash and payments accurately at point of sale.
• Process loyalty cards and manage pricing discrepancies.
• Keep storeroom tidy and stock organised.
• Assist customers with product knowledge and service.
• Report stock levels, damaged or expired stock to management.
• Support stock counting and general stocktaking activities.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, SOPs and safety rules.
