Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Frontshop Assistant for Optenhorst to uphold merchandising standards and support customer service at the point of sale. The role covers stock rotation, shelf presentation, pricing accuracy, and handling transactions in line with Dis-Chem policies.

The position requires Grade 12, up to 6 months retail experience, with advantageous qualifications including 1 year retail experience and Retail Business Management certification.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 - Matric or Senior Certificate.
• 0 - 6 Months Retail work experience.
• 1 Year work experience within Retail (advantageous).
• Certification in Retail Business Management (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Ensure full ranges of products are on shelves and neatly presented.
• Maintain stock on shelves and ensure it has not reached sell-by date.
• Restock merchandise to maximise sales.
• Handle all out-of-stock queries promptly per policy.
• Store delivered stock correctly in the storeroom.
• Ensure labels and pricing are correct; report discrepancies.
• Keep storeroom tidy and organised.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to assist customers.
• Assist with restocking and back shopping as needed.
• Ensure merchandise is scanned and paid for.
• Process returns as authorised by Frontshop Leader.
• Keep daily takings secure until deposited.
• Follow Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
• Report damaged/expired stock to management.
• Train new and current team members.
