Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking a Fixed Term Frontshop Assistant to uphold merchandising standards while supporting customer service at the point of sale in the Westrand area. The role focuses on ensuring full product ranges, neat presentation, stock accuracy, and adherence to Dis-Chem policies and procedures.

Essential qualifications include Grade 12 and 0–6 months retail experience; advantageous are one year in retail and a certificate in Retail Business Management.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate is required.
• 0–6 months of retail work experience.
• Knowledge of retail operations and administration.
• Finds solutions to potential issues and knows when to escalate.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full product ranges are on shelves and neatly presented.
• Maintain stock and prevent expiry; restock to maximise sales.
• Handle customer queries and resolve out-of-stock issues promptly.
• Process purchases (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.) and manage payments.
• Keep storeroom tidy, label accuracy, and report price discrepancies.
• Assist with stock counts, rotation, and stock control procedures.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell where appropriate.
• Train new and current team members and adhere to SOPs.
