Job summary

Specsavers Grassland Junction in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a friendly Frontliner to be the first point of contact for patients. You will manage check-ins, answer inquiries, and support administrative tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires English and Afrikaans fluency, ability to work flexible hours (including weekends), and a proactive, customer-focused attitude in a fast-paced optical practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Matric) and/or National Certificate.
• Experience in customer service, receptionist, or admin role; optometry/medical/retail background preferred.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans; willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and manage check-ins.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments; send reminders.
• Update patient records and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with insurance verification and claims processing.
• Assist with eyewear selection and product information.
• Process payments and handle billing inquiries.
• Coordinate with optometrists and staff for a seamless experience.
• Maintain front office and waiting area.
