About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in international logistics, is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to manage their operations from Sandton, Gauteng, ZA.

This role is crucial for coordinating the movement of goods across borders, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and optimizing shipping routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international shipping, import/export procedures, and excellent negotiation skills with carriers. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the freight forwarding process, from initial booking to final delivery, ensuring seamless transit for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate the transportation of goods via air, sea, and road freight.
• Prepare and process all necessary documentation for international shipments, including customs declarations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Experience with various modes of transport (air, sea, road).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and TMS.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the Sandton, Gauteng, ZA business environment and its logistical connections.
• Relevant qualification in Logistics or International Trade is advantageous.
