This senior role oversees all F&B operations across multiple outlets, banqueting and catering, driving culinary excellence, profitability and exceptional guest service in a demanding venue.

About the Role

Our client, a premier conference and events centre located in Klerksdorp, North West, ZA, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Food & Beverage Director. This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations, including multiple dining outlets, banqueting, and catering services. You will drive culinary excellence, operational efficiency, and profitability while maintaining the highest service standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of F&B management within a large-scale venue and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences within the Hospitality & Tourism sector. This is a critical role for the continued success and growth of our client's operations in Klerksdorp. We are looking for a visionary leader who can innovate, inspire a team, and consistently exceed expectations in a demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for all food and beverage outlets to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
• Manage the daily operations of all F&B departments, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and room service.
• Oversee menu engineering, pricing strategies, and quality control to ensure profitability and guest appeal.
• Lead, train, and motivate the F&B team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control to achieve budgeted financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Develop and execute marketing and promotional activities to drive F&B revenue.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve any F&B related issues effectively.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role in a similar-sized establishment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple F&B outlets and large-scale banqueting operations.
• Strong financial acumen, with expertise in budgeting, P&L management, and cost control.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of culinary trends, menu development, and beverage programs.
• Experience with inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage complex operations.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Must be adaptable and available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
