Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. You will lead the finance team, ensure robust controls, and provide accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will hold a CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification, with at least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a senior controller role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Professional qualification CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent mandatory.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with 5+ in senior finance/Controller role.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills.
• Experience working with auditors and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR, GL, and payroll.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes with regular updates.
• Ensure IFRS and local regulatory compliance.
• Maintain robust internal controls and safeguard assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for management and auditors.
• Mentor the finance team and drive process improvements.
• Provide strategic financial analysis to support profitability and efficiency.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and banks.
• Support strategic initiatives and M&A with due diligence and analysis.
• Drive continuous process improvements within finance.
