Placements24 is seeking a Finance Manager based in Sandton, Gauteng to oversee all financial operations, lead FP&A, budgeting, accounting and treasury, and shape the company’s financial strategy in a fast-growing FMCG environment.

You will mentor a finance team, ensure IFRS compliance, maintain internal controls, drive profitability, and report to the board. A CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent and 7+ years’ experience are required, with strong SAP/ Oracle skills.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years progressive experience in financial management and accounting, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Experience in FP&A, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and SA tax regulations.
• Proficiency with SAP/Oracle ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, AP/AR, payroll and GL.
• Develop and manage annual budget process, forecasting and long-term planning.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, and banking relationships with internal controls.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent and rapidly growing force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager . This critical role, based in the bustling commercial hub of Sandton, Gauteng , will oversee all financial operations of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, and treasury functions. The Finance Manager will play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring robust financial controls. Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Develop and manage the annual budget process, including forecasting and long-term financial planning. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Conduct in-depth financial analysis, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and banking relationships. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Support senior management and the board of directors with financial information and strategic advice. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across the organization. Manage external audits and liaise with auditors effectively.

Requirements

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting, with at least 3 years in a management role, preferably within the FMCG industry. Proven experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and forecasting. Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax regulations. Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. High level of integrity and attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment in Sandton, Gauteng.
