Job summary

Clicks Group is seeking a Store Manager in the Free State to lead store operations, drive sales and ensure service excellence. You will report to the Area Manager and manage a team to deliver brand standards and financial targets.

The role requires a strong retail/FMCG background, financial acumen and leadership skills, with focus on stock control, merchandising, customer service and compliance with Labour policies. Experience in store management is essential.

Qualifications

Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
Essential: B. Degree or Diploma in retail / finance management, pharmacy or related (External applicants)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Responsibilities

To ensure the efficient operation of the store and service excellence by leading and directing the store operations team to meet sales, profit and compliance targets.
To drive and maximise sales, track daily targets, weekly and monthly sales plans and take corrective action as required.
To manage all operational activities of the store including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping and administration.
To execute in-store visual merchandising and maintain brand presentation and standards.
To ensure competent and motivated employees through selection, leadership, development and scheduling in line with labour policy.
To maintain weekly time and attendance records and HR documentation.
To implement customer service initiatives and drive loyalty and club card targets.
To build relationships with stakeholders to achieve objectives and maximize opportunities.
To monitor customer trends and competitors to capitalize on opportunities.
To foster cohesion between store operations, pharmacy and clinic teams.
To drive a high performing culture delivering customer satisfaction and shareholder value.
