Placements24 is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the Mahikeng, North West region. You will lead and mentor a field-based sales team, drive distribution, and ensure strong product visibility and growth across channels.

You will balance strategic in-office planning with hands-on field activities, managing key accounts and implementing area-specific plans to achieve ambitious targets. A strong leadership mindset and FMCG expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in FMCG sales with leadership experience
• Strong retail channel and distribution knowledge
• Willingness to balance office planning with field work
• Driver's license and reliable transport
• Based in Mahikeng or able to commute for meetings

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute area sales strategies to meet targets for the Mahikeng region.
• Lead, coach and motivate a team of sales reps and merchandisers.
• Manage relationships with key retail accounts, wholesalers, and distributors in the area.
• Ensure product availability, visibility, and promotional effectiveness at POS.
• Analyze sales data, market trends and competitors to identify opportunities and challenges.
• Collaborate with marketing, supply chain and operations for aligned execution.
• Oversee sales budgets and resource allocation within the area.
• Conduct field visits to assess performance and gather market intelligence.
• Develop and deliver sales training programs for the team.
• Report on area performance, forecasts and initiatives to senior management
