Placements24 is seeking a proactive Field Telecoms Engineer to support the Welkom, Free State region. You will install, maintain and repair telecommunications equipment at client sites, ensuring reliable network services and minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Field Engineer in telecoms.
• Strong networking, VoIP and cellular infra knowledge.
• Driver's license with clean record.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically adept Field Telecoms Engineer to serve the Welkom, Free State region. This role is essential for the hands‑on installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our network services, often working directly with customers to resolve technical issues. The ideal candidate is comfortable with physical work, possesses excellent diagnostic skills, and is committed to providing exceptional on‑site support, contributing to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of the company's network services in the area.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer locations.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on network and voice systems to identify and resolve faults.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of telecommunications infrastructure to prevent service disruptions.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency dispatches to address urgent technical issues.
• Provide basic user training and technical support to customers on installed equipment.

Requirements
