Placements24 is seeking an on-site Field Telecommunications Technician to install, maintain and repair telecom equipment at customer sites in Rustenburg, North West. You will be the on-ground face of the company, delivering reliable service, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with the NOC for escalation.

The role requires a Matric and a technical telecom qualification, with at least 3 years in the field.

Formación

• Matriculation or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification in telecommunications or electronics.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field technician in the telecom industry.
• Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic networks.
• Familiarity with various telecommunications hardware and testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of network connectivity and fault diagnosis.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be on call as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests on network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in telecommunications systems, identifying root causes of issues.
• Respond to service calls and customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet company standards and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while working on-site.
• Provide basic technical support and customer education on service usage.
• Collaborate with the network operations center (NOC) for issue escalation and resolution.
