Job summary

Groupe CFAO Johannesburg seeks an experienced Service Department Manager to lead the Field Service teams, ensure quality, safety and customer satisfaction while driving profitable operations. You will coach staff, manage schedules, and coordinate with customers to deliver timely service and maintain equipment integrity.

Responsibilities include performance management, HR compliance, budgeting, payroll coordination, and ensuring adherence to OHSACT and company policies across service activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical skill within the Materials Handling Industry.
• Relevant knowledge of products and value-added offerings.
• Proven and relevant experience within similar role.
• Relevant technical qualification within industry.
• Experience working on the Kerridge system.
• 5 years + industry experience, technical competencies.
• Strong ability to manage, lead and coach a team; ability to plan, organise and control business activities and people for optimum productivity and efficiency.
• Ability to negotiate on a win-win basis.
• Highly developed communication skills with people at all levels in an organization.
• Excellent customer service skills; ability to listen to, understand and resolve customer queries.

Responsibilities

• Manage the team reporting to this position with ongoing performance feedback.
• Coach and counsel to improve performance; bi-annual appraisals.
• Compile and submit payroll information timely; monthly/weekly team meetings.
• Manage leave and absenteeism.
• Drive HR practices in line with company objectives and ensure inter-department communication.
• Carry out routine maintenance checks and ensure parts available before attending customer site.
• Highlight all quoted work in liaison with the customer.
• Attend customer premises, locate equipment, diagnose fault and inform service coordinator of ETA.
• Rectify faults to customer satisfaction and ensure safe operation.
• Provide technical coaching and on-the-job training to Field Service Team.
