Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Engineer for our Paarl, Western Cape client to install, maintain, and repair advanced telecom equipment across client sites. You will be the front line technical expert, ensuring reliable service with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first approach.

The role requires travelling within the Western Cape, working autonomously, and adhering to safety standards while delivering high-quality installations and ongoing support on base stations,

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of Field Service Engineer experience in telecoms or similar.
• Experience with installation and troubleshooting of telecom hardware (base stations, routers, switches, antennas).
• Strong understanding of network protocols and basic networking concepts.
• Proactive, autonomous with ability to travel within Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment at client locations.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on installed systems.
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults in a timely manner.
• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot network and system issues.
• Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all activities.

• Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and travel extensively within the **Western Cape**.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
