Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a related field.
• Experience in splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables.
• Familiarity with fiber optic testing equipment and measurement tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites around Rustenburg.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and associated equipment in various environments.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot fiber optic network faults to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Operate specialized fiber optic testing equipment, such as OTDRs and fusion splicers.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for network installations.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, testing results, and repairs performed on the network.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a related field.
