About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join their expanding operations in Cape Town. This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks that form the backbone of our telecommunications services. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of our fiber infrastructure, working directly with clients and on-site teams to deliver reliable connectivity solutions. The successful candidate will be hands‑on, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety in a field‑based capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and terminate fiber optic cables according to industry standards and company specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fiber optic networks to identify and resolve faults.
• Operate specialized fiber optic testing equipment, including OTDRs and fusion splicers.
• Ensure all installations and repairs are completed efficiently and safely, adhering to site safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation details and test results.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing techniques.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, connectors, and hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical specifications.
• Valid driver's license and a willingness to work across various locations in and around Cape Town.
