Placements24 is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our Rustenburg team. You will deploy, maintain, and repair fiber optic networks to power regional telecommunications services, working with clients and internal teams to ensure high-quality connectivity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a related field.
• Experience in splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables.
• Familiarity with fiber optic testing equipment and measurement tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites around Rustenburg.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fiber optic network faults.
• Operate OTDRs and fusion splicers.
• Read drawings and specifications for deployments.
• Ensure safety regulations and company standards.
• Maintain records of installations and repairs.
