Placements24 is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technician for an on-site role in Klerksdorp. The technician will install, maintain, and repair voice, data, and video networks, ensuring reliable connectivity for clients and meeting industry standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician.
• Solid knowledge of telecom cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and network protocols.
• Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting network connectivity and hardware issues.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and maintain telecommunication cabling systems (fiber optic, copper).
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to voice and data networks, including routers, switches, and modems.
• Perform site surveys and recommend appropriate telecommunications solutions.
• Install and configure telecommunication equipment such as PBX systems, VoIP phones, and network access points.
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards and client specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and equipment inventory.
