Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Farm Business Development Manager for Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will identify new markets, forge strategic partnerships, and expand a portfolio of agricultural products and services, working with the executive team and sales and operations.

You will combine market analysis, client engagement, and deal negotiation in a hybrid role with opportunities for in-person and remote interaction, travel as required, and a clear path to growth within a dynamic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic management within the agricultural industry.
• Proven track record of successfully identifying and closing new business deals.
• Strong understanding of agricultural markets, products, and value chains, particularly in the Western Cape region.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and strategic partnerships within the agricultural sector.
• Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve growth objectives.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
• Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies.
• Analyze financial data and market trends to forecast revenue and assess the viability of new ventures.
• Prepare business proposals, presentations, and reports for senior management.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
