Job summary

Bidvest Facilities Management in Bloemfontein seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer to implement and oversee a robust maintenance system across client facilities, ensuring SLA delivery and safety compliance.

You will manage planned, preventive, corrective maintenance, supervise technical staff, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with contractors to optimize resources and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering qualification or equivalent is required.
• Matric/Senior Certificate is required.
• SA Driver’s License is required.
• 5 years in maintenance engineering and CRM & Property Management.

Responsibilities

• Drive timeous execution of maintenance strategies: planned, preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance.
• Identify maintenance risks and contribute to resolution.
• Implement HSE, Quality & Risk Management per Client needs.
• Optimize resource utilization across maintenance works.
• Ensure timely delivery of parts and spares for maintenance execution.
• Monitor and evaluate maintenance work for quality and cost optimization.
• Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in FM services.
• Manage SLA-based agreements with suppliers and contractors.
• Monitor contractors’ performance and take corrective action as needed.
• Provide technical support on projects and adherence to processes.
• Explore innovative, cost-effective maintenance methods.
• Manage budget and staff performance; provide coaching and development.
• Staff placement, shift rosters and leave approvals.
