Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Soweto maintenance team, ensuring a safe, functional facility for staff and operations.

You will schedule work, supervise repairs, implement preventative maintenance, manage inventories, and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires leadership, broad knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical) and a proactive, safety-first approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within facilities or maintenance management.
• Broad knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical).
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets for maintenance operations.
• Experience using maintenance management software (CMMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all building systems and equipment.
• Oversee repair work, ensuring it is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
