Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance for a large commercial complex in Soweto. You will lead a team of maintenance staff, plan preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies to keep all systems running smoothly.

Ideal candidates will have proven facilities management experience, strong knowledge of building systems, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities management or a supervisory role in maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems.
• Experience in managing a team of skilled tradespeople.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification in a related field is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including electricians, plumbers, and general maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
• Oversee scheduling and execution of repairs, installations, and upgrades to minimize disruption.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance issues and ensure safety compliance.
• Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related issues and emergencies.
