Placements24 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor in Bloemfontein to oversee maintenance operations across industrial facilities. You will lead a team of technicians, schedule preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot complex issues to keep all plant equipment running safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong leadership, reading schematics, and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of their industrial facilities in Bloemfontein . In this leadership role, you will manage a team of technicians, ensuring the effective and efficient upkeep of all plant machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include planning and scheduling maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. This is a crucial position for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of our facilities in the Free State province.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all plant equipment and systems.
• Oversee the repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring timely and quality workmanship.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure availability of necessary components.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the maintenance department.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, optimize processes, and reduce operational costs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within industrial maintenance or facilities management.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems common in industrial plants.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
