Placements24 is seeking an enthusiastic Catering Team Leader for exciting events in Durban. You will guide a team to deliver high-quality catering, manage on-site logistics, and ensure superb service and presentation across multiple clients.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to food safety and client satisfaction. On-site event work with potential for growth within hospitality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a team leader or supervisor in catering or hospitality.
• Solid understanding of food preparation and presentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to motivate a team.
• Strong organizational skills for managing event logistics.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a food service env.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as events require.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise catering staff during event setup, service, and breakdown.
• Ensure all food is prepared, presented, and served to standards.
• Manage inventory and stock levels for events, including ordering and receiving supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with health regulations.
• Address and resolve client or staff issues during events promptly and professionally.
• Train and mentor new team members on service protocols and best practices.
