Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event Chef de Partie for our premier catering operations in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will manage a specific kitchen section, ensuring high-quality dishes for intimate dinners to large functions.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a similar role, strong culinary technique skills, and a commitment to food safety. Shift flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of culinary techniques and food preparation methods relevant to event catering.
• Proficiency in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure, managing multiple tasks.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes within your designated section, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
• Execute menus to the highest standards, adhering to recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Manage your section effectively, including mise en place, stock rotation, and cleanliness.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Contribute ideas for menu development and improvements to kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen workflow during service.
• Manage inventory for your section, reporting any shortages or issues.
• Uphold the company's reputation for culinary excellence in all aspects of your work.
• Ensure all equipment in your section is properly maintained and cleaned.
