Placements24 is recruiting an experienced Event Chef de Partie for a prestigious Johannesburg catering team. You will manage a specific kitchen station, delivering high-quality dishes for a range of events from intimate gatherings to large banquets.

The ideal candidate brings proven chef de partie experience, strong knowledge of cooking methods, and a firm commitment to food safety. You will train juniors and collaborate with senior chefs to ensure outstanding presentation and service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Chef de Partie or similar in high-volume catering.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and presentation.
• Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Culinary degree or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Proficiency in kitchen management and stock control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items for high-profile events.
• Manage inventory for your station, including ordering and minimizing waste.
• Ensure food safety and HACCP compliance at all times.
• Collaborate with Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu development.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation and equipment.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff on techniques and safety.
