Placements24 is seeking an Event Catering Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Port Elizabeth. You will manage a specific kitchen section during event preparation and service, ensuring top-quality food and presentation for corporate events and private celebrations.

Working closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will apply varied techniques, maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to a fast-paced service in a beautiful coastal city. A passion for food and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Commis Chef in a high-volume catering or restaurant environment.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively during events.
• A passion for food and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
• Team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items for specific stations (e.g., sauces, grill, garde manger) according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion size for all dishes produced.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety protocols.
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for your assigned station.
• Collaborate effectively with other members of the kitchen brigade during busy service periods.
