Placements24 is recruiting a Banqueting & Events Chef de Partie in Cape Town to join a renowned hospitality group. You will deliver high-volume banquets and events, manage a section of the kitchen, and support the Head Chef across menus and costing for diverse events.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a strong grasp of food safety, and the ability to thrive under pressure during busy service periods in Western Cape venues.

Qualifikationen

• A recognized culinary qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role, preferably with a focus on banqueting or large-scale catering.
• Proficiency in a wide range of cooking methods and cuisines relevant to event catering.
• Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene protocols.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods.
• Good communication and leadership potential to guide junior staff.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as dictated by the events schedule in Western Cape .
• A passion for delivering exceptional food quality and guest satisfaction.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes for banquets and events according to established recipes and standards.
• Manage and maintain your designated section of the kitchen, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper stock rotation.
• Assist the Banqueting Head Chef in menu planning, development, and costing for various events.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, including Commis Chefs and kitchen hands, on specific tasks and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and minimize wastage.
• Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with the entire kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Adapt quickly to changing event requirements and last-minute adjustments.
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes served during events.
• Contribute to a safe and efficient working environment in our Cape Town event kitchens.
