Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead a major ERP implementation for a well-established manufacturing firm in Midrand. You will drive the full project lifecycle—from vendor selection and configuration to user training and deployment—across IT, operations, finance and supply chain teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in project management with ERP deliveries (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics), strong governance skills, and fluency with Agile and Waterfall.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of project management experience with ERP implementations (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget
• Deep understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and finance processes
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (MS Project, Jira)
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse project stakeholders
• Willingness to commit to full-time, in-office work in Midrand

Responsibilities

• Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of an ERP system tailored to the company's operational needs.
• Develop and execute detailed project plans, defining scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, finance, and supply chain personnel, to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Oversee vendor selection and manage relationships with ERP software providers and implementation partners.
• Ensure effective data migration, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to guarantee system integrity and functionality.
• Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to business operations.
• Provide regular project status updates and reports to executive stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and key decisions.
• Facilitate comprehensive training programs for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of the new ERP system.
• Ensure the implemented ERP system aligns with business objectives and industry best practices in Midrand.
• Manage the project budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
