Job summary

Placements24 is assisting an environmental consultancy in Paarl, Western Cape to hire an Environmental Engineer. You will conduct EIAs, develop mitigation, and perform fieldwork across the Paarl region.

Candidate will review SA environmental legislation, prepare regulatory reports, and engage with stakeholders throughout the assessment process. On-site role with travel to project sites across the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (env focus) or related field.
• EAP registration desired (e.g., EAPSA).
• 5+ years experience in EIAs and managing env projects in SA.
• Strong knowledge of SA env legislation and EIA processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct EIAs and Basic Assessments for diverse projects.
• Identify potential environmental impacts across biophysical, social, and economic areas.
• Develop EMPs and mitigation measures.
• Conduct baseline studies, including ecological surveys, noise and air quality monitoring.
• Interpret SA environmental legislation and guidelines.
• Prepare clear, concise environmental reports for regulators.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
