Placements24 seeks an experienced Environmental Engineer to lead EIAs for development and infrastructure projects in Nelspruit. You will develop EMPs and monitor compliance with environmental permits, collaborating with authorities, clients and project teams.

The role requires 5+ years in environmental consulting, strong report writing, and up-to-date knowledge of SA environmental legislation. A hybrid work arrangement is offered in Mpumalanga.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with an environmental focus.
At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, EIAs and compliance.
Strong knowledge of SA environmental legislation (NEMA).

Responsibilities

Conduct EIAs for development and infrastructure projects.
Develop and implement EMPs for regulatory compliance.
Monitor activities for permits and legal obligations.
Identify environmental risks and propose mitigation measures.
Liaise with authorities, clients and project teams for approvals.
Stay updated on national and local environmental legislation and best practices.
