Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an entry-level remote technical support specialist to join our software division. This fully remote role offers the freedom to work from home, ideally near Upington, Northern Cape, ZA, while receiving extensive training and mentorship to build strong support skills.

You will diagnose and resolve common software issues, guide users through steps, and document resolutions in a ticketing system, with opportunities to grow into more advanced support tasks as you learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows/macOS).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Customer-focused mindset with a passion for helping users.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests via email, chat, and phone.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot common software issues with step-by-step guidance.
• Document issues, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior staff or development teams.
• Assist users with software installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Contribute to the knowledge base with common issues and solutions.
• Provide feedback to development on recurring issues and product improvements.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic attitude with users while adhering to SLAs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical knowledge.
