Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for its Energy Storage Solutions division in Benoni, Gauteng. You will oversee day-to-day operations, project execution, and service delivery of advanced battery energy storage systems for diverse clients.

You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, ensure safety, efficiency, and quality, and drive continuous improvement while managing budgets and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of operations management experience, preferably in energy, renewables, or electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with energy storage systems (BESS), grid-tied systems or power electronics is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols and project management principles.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with software for operations management and reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize operational performance of energy storage projects and facilities.
• Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle from installation to maintenance and support.
• Develop and implement safe, efficient operational procedures and best practices.
• Lead, train, and manage technicians, engineers, and field staff.
• Monitor system performance data, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Manage inventory, logistics, and supply chain for project materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, control costs and optimize resources.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and stakeholders for seamless project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within operations.
