Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Endpoint Security Engineer to join their on-site IT security team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on deploying, configuring, and optimizing endpoint security across laptops, desktops, servers, and mobile devices, including EDR and DLP tools.

The candidate will monitor alerts, investigate threats, and implement security policies with strong scripting and networking skills. On-site collaboration with IT operations and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3–5 years in endpoint security engineering or management.
• Experience with leading endpoint security platforms: CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender for Endpoint.
• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, Linux networking and common attack vectors.
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CySA+, CEH beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint security solutions including EDR, antivirus, firewalls, and DLP.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate threats, and respond to incidents.
• Develop and enforce policies for endpoint security management and hardening.
• Perform regular vulnerability scans on endpoints and remediate findings.
• Respond to malware infections and unauthorized access incidents.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest endpoint threats and tools.
• Collaborate with IT operations to integrate security into deployments.
• Maintain documentation of configurations and incident response playbooks.
• Provide guidance on endpoint security to end-users and IT staff.
