Placements24 is seeking an Endpoint Security Specialist to protect end-user devices in Polokwane. You will deploy NGAV/EDR, configure host-based firewalls, and ensure devices follow security policies.

You will monitor endpoint threats, investigate alerts, and perform incident response for endpoint-related issues, while developing and enforcing security policies for laptops, mobile devices, and workstations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of endpoint security experience.
• Hands-on with EDR platforms (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black).
• Strong OS security knowledge (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Scripting or automation experience is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting for endpoint security issues in Polokwane.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Endpoint Security Specialist to manage and enhance the security of all end-user devices within their organization, based in Polokwane. This role is critical for deploying, configuring, and maintaining endpoint security solutions such as antivirus, EDR, and host-based firewalls. You will be responsible for monitoring endpoint threats, responding to incidents involving compromised devices, and ensuring that all endpoints adhere to corporate security policies. This position offers a challenging opportunity to protect critical assets at the user level in the Limpopo region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and optimize endpoint security solutions including next-generation antivirus (NGAV) and endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms.
• Monitor endpoint activity for malicious behavior, investigate security alerts, and perform incident response for endpoint-related threats.
• Develop and enforce security policies for endpoint devices, including mobile devices and laptops.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and patch management for all endpoint systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users on endpoint security best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest threats and vulnerabilities affecting endpoint devices and recommend appropriate countermeasures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience specifically focused on endpoint security management.
• Hands-on experience with EDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black) and enterprise antivirus software.

• Experience with scripting or automation for endpoint management tasks is a plus.
