Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Endpoint Security Engineer to join a remote security team supporting operations that include Soweto. You will deploy, manage, and optimize endpoint security solutions, develop detection and response capabilities, and ensure device integrity across laptops, desktops, and servers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in endpoint security engineering or management.
• Hands-on experience with EDR platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black) and other endpoint protection tools.
• Strong understanding of malware analysis, threat intelligence, and incident response techniques.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
• Familiarity with operating system internals (Windows, macOS, Linux).

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint security solutions, including EDR, antivirus, and host-based firewalls.
• Develop and refine detection rules and response playbooks for endpoint threats.
• Monitor endpoint security alerts and conduct investigations into potential compromises.
• Perform threat hunting on endpoints to proactively identify and neutralize malicious activity.
• Collaborate with IT operations to ensure endpoint security measures are effectively implemented and maintained.
• Stay current with the latest endpoint security threats and technologies.
