Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3–5 years in endpoint security engineering or management.
• Experience with leading endpoint security platforms: CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender for Endpoint.
• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, Linux networking and common attack vectors.
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CySA+, CEH beneficial.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated Endpoint Security Engineer to join their IT security team. This role is based on-site at their facilities in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, and is crucial for protecting the organization's endpoints – including laptops, desktops, servers, and mobile devices – from malware, unauthorized access, and other cyber threats. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, managing, and optimizing endpoint security solutions, such as antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and data loss prevention (DLP) tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in endpoint security technologies and a proactive approach to threat detection and response. This is a hands-on role vital to maintaining operational integrity and safeguarding sensitive company data within our Nelspruit operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint security solutions, including EDR, antivirus, firewalls, and DLP.
• Monitor endpoint security alerts and events, investigating potential threats and responding to security incidents.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for endpoint security management and hardening.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience specifically in endpoint security engineering or management.
• Proven experience with leading endpoint security platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint).
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking, and common attack vectors.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation is a plus.
• Knowledge of data loss prevention (DLP) and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, CEH, or vendor-specific certifications are beneficial.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, required for an on-site role in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
