Placements24 is partnering with a well-established insurer to recruit a diligent Claims Handler for personal lines claims (automobile and household) based in Paarl, Western Cape. You will register claims, assess liability, calculate settlements, and liaise with assessors, repairers and legal advisors to support policyholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Claims Handler, preferably in personal lines (auto and household).
• RE 5 relevant insurance qualifications.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude.
• Resilience and empathy when handling sensitive situations.
• Based in or willing to commute to Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Register and process personal lines claims (auto and household) from inception to closure.
• Assess claim validity, coverage and liability based on policy terms.
• Communicate updates and guidance to policyholders throughout the process.
• Appoint and manage service providers (assessors, repairers, legal advisors).
• Determine settlements and authorise payments within delegated authority.
• Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalate per procedures.
• Maintain accurate claim files and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with insurance legislation and company policies.
• Strive for efficient resolutions and meet KPIs.
• Provide excellent, empathetic customer service.
