Be Different Recruitment in Sandton seeks an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for commercial, industrial and renewable projects. You will guide technical design, project management, and client liaison.

The role requires a BEng in Electrical Engineering, Pr.Eng with ECSA, 10+ years of design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and ETAP. You will mentor a team and drive adherence to SANS and IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 10+ years of progressive electrical design experience, with 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Experience designing electrical systems for buildings, industrial plants, or power systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP or similar.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team in Sandton . This senior role will involve leading electrical design aspects for a diverse range of projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and renewable energy installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical design, project management, team leadership, and client liaison. You will ensure that all electrical designs meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This is a prime opportunity to influence the technical direction of major projects and mentor a team of talented engineers in one of Johannesburg's premier business districts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for various projects from concept to completion.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, specifications, schematics, and calculations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in designing electrical systems for buildings, industrial plants, or power systems.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, or similar.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting design, earthing, and protection systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexibly to meet project demands from the Sandton office.
