Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Manager for projects in and around Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role oversees safe, efficient electrical installations for solar farms and energy infrastructure, with responsibility for site teams, schedules, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical installations, strong leadership, and a solid understanding of project execution in the Mpumalanga region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing electrical installations, preferably in renewable energy or large construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices, safety standards (OHSA Act), and codes.
• Experience managing teams and subcontractors on large sites.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

About the Role

Our client, a leading contractor in the renewable energy sector, requires an experienced Electrical Installation Manager for projects in and around Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This critical role oversees the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of electrical systems for large-scale solar farms and other energy infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing installation teams, coordinating with site personnel, ensuring adherence to project schedules, and maintaining rigorous safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex electrical installations, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of project execution in the Mpumalanga region. This position is field-based, requiring active site presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all electrical installation activities on project sites.
• Develop and implement detailed installation plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements on site.
• Lead and motivate site electrical teams, providing clear direction and technical support.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless workflow.
• Monitor installation progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee the quality control of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
• Manage site resources, including equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring efficient utilization.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks with the installation teams.
• Liaise with clients and inspectors to facilitate site inspections and approvals.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification with extensive experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing electrical installations, preferably in the renewable energy or industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices, safety standards (e.g., OHSA Act), and relevant codes.
• Proven experience in managing teams and subcontractors on large construction sites.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Mpumalanga region.
• First Aid and safety certifications are advantageous.
