Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the electrical department for a major mining conglomerate in Klerksdorp, North West, South Africa. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years in management/supervision within mining.
• Extensive knowledge of mining electrical systems including HV/MV distribution, mine winding systems, and process control.
• Proven experience managing large budgets and capital projects.
• Strong understanding of South African mining regulations and safety legislation.
• Exceptional leadership, team management and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem solving and decision making.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and software.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and management for the Electrical Engineering department.
• Oversee design, installation and maintenance of electrical systems for mining operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards and environmental policies across South Africa.
• Develop and manage the electrical department's budget, capex plans and resource allocation.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors and technicians, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Manage key relationships with internal stakeholders, external contractors and suppliers.
• Oversee procurement of electrical equipment and services for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to optimize asset reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical system performance and efficiency.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation and reporting on all activities.
