Qualifications

• B.Eng or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years in electrical engineering; 5+ years in mining/heavy industrial.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and mining equipment.
• Knowledge of mine electrical safety regulations and standards.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in electrical design and simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for mining operations, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
• Develop and implement electrical safety management systems and ensure compliance with mine health and safety regulations.
• Oversee electrical maintenance teams, optimizing preventative and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Manage electrical project lifecycles, from scope definition and budgeting to execution and handover.
• Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
