Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a respected charitable organization in Cape Town, Western Cape, to hire a Program Development Specialist. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative education programs addressing local gaps, with a strong emphasis on curriculum development and impact.

You will collaborate with schools, government bodies, and community stakeholders, manage pilots, develop proposals, budgets, and evaluation plans, and advance educational equity through

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
• At least 6 years of progressive experience in program design, development, and management.
• Expertise in curriculum development and pedagogical approaches.
• Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, including proposal writing and reports.
• In-depth knowledge of the South African education system, especially Cape Town.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to social impact and educational equity.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new educational programs aligned with mission and objectives.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify target audiences and priority areas.
• Create program proposals with goals, activities, budgets, and evaluation plans.
• Manage pilot programs, monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Develop and refine program content and delivery methods for maximum effectiveness.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, educators, government bodies, and stakeholders in the Western Cape.
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation frameworks, collect data to demonstrate impact.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, donors, and partners.
