Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, is seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to oversee the development and enhancement of an e-commerce platform. You will lead a team of coordinators, coordinating with development, marketing, and operations to deliver a cutting-edge online shopping experience.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in project management with 5+ years in e-commerce, strong knowledge of Magento, Shopify Plus, and backend integrations, and proven leadership and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of project management experience, with 5+ years in e-commerce platform development or digital product management.
• Experience leading complex web-based application projects and knowledge of e-commerce technologies (Magento, Shopify Plus, custom builds).
• Strong experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and MS Project; excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment in Sandton, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of e-commerce platform development projects.
• Manage scope, timelines, budgets, and resources; provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with development teams, UI/UX, marketing, and external vendors.
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and user experience standards for the platform.
• Implement agile practices to drive faster iterations and continuous improvement.
• Oversee integration with ERP, CRM, WMS and other backend systems; drive platform optimization and CRO initiatives.
• Mentor junior project team members and manage risk and dependencies.
