Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented E-commerce Performance Analyst to join our client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on collecting and interpreting data related to website traffic, sales, and marketing effectiveness to drive online growth.

You will translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for marketing, sales, and product teams, develop dashboards, monitor KPIs, and support optimization initiatives in a fast-paced, coastal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics or related).
• Minimum 4 years of data analysis experience, preferably in e-commerce or digital marketing.
• Experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics).
• Proficiency in data manipulation/analysis using Excel, SQL, Python or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce metrics, KPIs and benchmarks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze key e-commerce metrics (traffic, conversion rate, AOV, CAC, CLTV).
• Develop and maintain dashboards/reports to track progress against goals.
• Analyze sales trends, product performance, and customer behavior to identify opportunities/risks.
• Evaluate marketing campaigns across channels (SEO, SEM, social, email) and recommend optimizations.
• Perform A/B and multivariate testing to improve UX and conversions.
• Identify drivers of churn/loyalty and propose retention strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and provide analytics support.
• Present findings to senior management and stakeholders clearly.
• Stay up-to-date with analytics tools, techniques and best practices.
• Identify data discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
