Placements24 is seeking a Senior Operations Director to lead all aspects of Durban-based operations, including warehousing, transport, and inventory management. You will drive efficiency, cost control, and strategic planning while mentoring a high-performing team.

Ideal candidates have a strong track record in logistics and supply chain leadership, with the ability to implement best practices and optimize complex operations in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Admin, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in operations and supply chain, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing complex operations and driving efficiency improvements.
• In-depth knowledge of warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and international logistics.
• Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic operational plans to optimize efficiency and profitability for Durban operations.
• Oversee daily activities: warehousing, inventory, fleet management, and freight forwarding.
• Lead and develop a high-performing operations team focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Establish KPIs to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Implement best practices in supply chain management and operational excellence.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and finance for integrated operations.
• Drive adoption of new technologies to streamline operations and service levels.
• Manage relationships with key vendors, carriers, and partners.
