Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Logistics and Supply Chain Director to oversee extensive Durban operations, driving end-to-end supply chain optimization, cost control, and on-time delivery in a busy port city.

You will lead a cross-functional team, set strategic direction, negotiate with suppliers and carriers, and implement advanced systems to improve visibility and performance across inbound and outbound logistics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management with significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven track record in managing complex supply chains and optimizing distribution networks in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Expertise in inventory management, freight forwarding, and warehouse operations.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and customs compliance.
• Negotiate with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to secure favorable terms and optimize costs.
• Implement and manage advanced supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of logistics and supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
