Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Logistics and Operations Manager in Durban to spearhead supply chain efficiency and warehouse operations. You will drive cost-effective logistics, optimize processes, and lead teams across warehousing and transportation.

The role requires 5–7 years in logistics and operations, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and experience with WMS and ERP systems. Flexible remote options are available with a focus on performance and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in logistics and operations management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control, and transportation management systems.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with carriers and vendors to achieve cost savings and service improvements.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools for optimizing logistics performance.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of logistics, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
• Develop and implement efficient logistics and supply chain strategies to meet company objectives and client needs.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure optimal service and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and warehouse operations, driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements within the logistics function.
• Lead and develop the logistics and warehouse teams, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability.
